Tony Trung Nguyen
In 1996, Mr. Nguyen was the Information Systems Coordinator for the US Postal Service (USPS) at Capital District managing a network of Novell NetWare and Microsoft Windows platform. Mr. Nguyen was working for Capital District Manager Mr. Patrick Donahoe who became the 73rd United States Postmaster General in 2010.
In 1999, Mr. Nguyen started working for NASA Headquarters as a System Architect providing his expertise on the remediation process of Y2K. He was a major contributor for the deployment of engineering and technical information systems such as Fiber Channel Storage Area Network (SAN) solution and right after September 11 tragedies deployed BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) solution to improve communication during crisis.
In 2002, Mr. Nguyen also worked for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in 2002 on the development of a collaboration security subsystem for the Defense Collaboration Tool Suite (DCTS). He had brought his expertise on the design and the deployment of Microsoft Active Directory (AD) for DCTS that provided combatant commands, services and defense agencies, interoperable, real-time and asynchronous collaboration capability including voice and video conferencing, document and application sharing, instant messaging, and whiteboard capabilities in support of defense planning.
In 2003, Mr. Nguyen was a senior staff member of Corporate IT Security for SAIC under the Data Protection Program (DPP). He has helped developing new security policies and procedures that will improve the corporation’s security posture. He was working closely with other senior security and system engineer staff from other group and sectors within the US and the UK in order to standardize IT procedures within the Corporation worldwide.
In 2012, Mr. Nguyen was assigned as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) responsible for the overall security posture for all datacenters. He is the point of contact for security related matters to comply with FISMA. His role is to ensure that the implementation and maintenance of security controls in accordance with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the USCIS policies (DHS 4300A and NIST 800-53).
In 2013, Mr. Nguyen was supporting DHS/NSD responsible for designing, developing, deploying and providing support for the National Cybersecurity Protection System (NCPS) for “EINSTEIN 3” Accelerated (E3A).
In 2015, Mr. Nguyen is providing security engineering support for the infrastructure and applications across multi-site enterprise and data center environments at Freddie Mac.
Mr. Tony Trung Nguyen studied Mechanical Engineering, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland. He continued his studies at the University Of Maryland University College, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer & Information Sciences and his Master of Science degree in Telecommunication Management.
